his artstyle looks different
>>2592

I think it's just a bit more polished than usual since he's got enough money to really go all out with this game.
how the fuck does he expect me to buy this? i don't wan't my friends to see me playing a furry fetish game.
>>2594
You can always play offline, and nobody will know. You just gotta make sure to go offline BEFORE playing.
>>2594

Make a throwaway steam account and buy a giftcard. Nobody will ever know.
>>2598
well expect the federal government or my bank
>>2599
The Gornment can
(1.66 MB 500x285 4325345325256354656.gif)
>>2599
Buy the gift card with cash, then it's only the government you have to worry about. They won't give a fuck anyways considering all the shit they probably see on the daily.
>>2599
Mail your fetishes directly to your local representative.
>>2603
I will forever be listed into the "gross furry fetishist" blacklist by the CIA, I will be considered worse than the worst criminal or terrorist.
So now I have to start a separate Steam account for porn; I always knew this day would come.
>>2605
Such is the price of secrecy. Hopefully it'll be worth it, Volkenfox's drawings are sometimes kinda… wonky.
(1.68 MB 427x240 NopeNopeNope.gif)
>>2590
Fuck…
>>2594
FUCK!
>>2598
>>2605
FUCK FUCK FUCKING FUCK
I JUST WANT TO SLAM MY SALAMI TO NON-STANDARD PORN.
Is this the shit I have to go through to get my rocks off? I fucking quit, get me off of this planet.
>>2605
or you could wait a month for all of the stills to come out

also I imagine for a game like this the speed at which it will be pirated will be fast.
You guys are making this out to be way more difficult than it is. Besides, unless you use a VPN at all times your internet service provider already knows you fap to anthropomorphized animals.
>>2594
Make better friends?
who cares if your steamfriends see that you're playing the furry tf/weightgain fetish VN

I certainly don't. In fact, when this comes out I'll probably stream it on the vidya network.
>>2632
this, my library knows that I have Sakura Clicker.
It's kinda weird how little information on the game's content Volken and TFW have released so far apart from a few screenshots.
SO how does the game relate to weight gain?
>>2596
If the game has trophies they will show up in your Activity even if you're offline.
>>2604
I guess you can hope it’s DRM free to actually play it while not on the steam client to truely play it in secret
>>2890
Did you even watch the trailer?
>>2907
I did, but only halfway. Didn't notice the weight gain part.

Seems like the game is primarily transformation based, although with some transformations making you fatter? So I hope there's more weight gain that what seems.
the game is out
wow this was a waste of two hours and $15
>>3453
Whats wrong with it?
>>3453
Do tell, do tell
>>3454
>>3455
story is shit, ending is shit
killing off characters for no reason good writing good job
>>3458

You do realize that there are multiple endings and that characters can be saved if you explore the various possibilities right?

I for one think it's an interesting visual novel and enjoyed the various transformation I've seen so far. My one issue with the game is that there doesn't seem to be an option to re-read text if you miss something.
>>3459
I kinda save been options, because sometimes it leads to a different plot point.

>>3455 I do agree that the endings are kinda lack laster. but overall im happy with this product, and i hope they do more of it.
i am kind of scared what will happen if a big-time, popular youtube video game guy becomes aware of this and decides to do a let's play of this game.
>>3458
I think you are being a little too harsh. Maybe you just got an ending you didn’t like? There are like, 8 endings and hundreds of options, maybe you just got unlucky.
kind hope some-one figures out or knows how to change the images round for a potential nude mod.

All the images are stored in the Steam folder for the game in PNG.

The main problem is they seem to be PNG that have been put through a wrapper or somewhat to compile the program so they show as .PNG but can't be opened like one.

I'm guessing some-one like has a way to do it lol
I really enjoyed this game.
Would I have preferred if the weightgain content was at least as extensive as what we usually see in Volkenfox's illustrated stories?
Absolutely, but I can't blame anyone for holding back a little on the special interest content for a game being distributed so broadly.
Man, I just hope someone can come up with some sort of TF/Path Chart thing, soon.
>>3452
Will there be any chance of Sharing Or is it impossible?
I wonder if the people who donated to have their characters in this game realized that Volken/Wright would just kill them off when they got bored of writing/drawing them ?
>>2590
Well… Now we wait for the torrent…
>>3467
No idea, didn't bought the game, not sure if I should.
anyone got the comic?
Say, does anyone know if there are any corruption paths/bad routes where you can make Mila or other characters evil? So far the closest I've gotten to bad Mila is super strong independent Mila.
Is the weight gain of Leeko any good for those who have played it?
>>3479
I've only gotten him fat as a guy, which was pretty solid. Still trying to figure out how t'get him fat as a gal…
>>3481

I figured that, I'm curious if the author made him to be bigger than when he started out while remaining a guy.
>>3478
i turned mila into a literal goth demon babe who sold her soul to the devil last night completely unintentionally unintentionally
>>3484
lol
Keep playing your cards right. You may get the ending I'm going to dub "The Pastry World Order"
>>3488
Oh wow, uh. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
>>3470
I doubt it will come any time soon, would be funny if there was some sort of anti-piracy transformation thing during the game if that ever happened.
>>3470
Same here. I think it's a really stupid move to have this available on steam of all places, they should've just had it as a game you buy through their patreon or something. As it stands right now I don't want this game on my steam list so that any of my RL friends could see it.
Didn't it say on the kickstarter that the game was only gonna be $12? Unless I read it wrong, why did he bump it up to $20 and only on steam of all places when its supposedly DRM-free.
So, been playing for like 19 hours (damn, I suck) and I got all endings but 2 as well as all romance options except for 2. There are a bunch of weight gain transformations, and several of them and pretty good (gotta be grateful for that pie shop). The most extensive ending is weight gain focused too, so that’s cool. If you like tf stuff or visual novels, I’d say it’s worth it. If it’s just for the weight gain, it depends on your wallet, I really did enjoy it though, even if most endings were a bit lackluster.
>>3494
Think you can grab a few screenshots?
Seems like a good VN but I'd only be in it for the weight gain content. I'd rather wait for a pirated copy to float around.
>>3492
They intent to release it on a non-Steam platform in late April/early May.
>>3497
What non-steam platform? Got a source on this?
>>3494
How far does the weight gain go? From the few screen it seems like it stops at chubby
>>3499
*Spoiler Alert*
there are a few moments where you can get fat or plus sized characters though there is the Pie Shop ending
>>3500
Cool thats good to know, I hope theres a download for this game soon because i can't afford to buy it
It'd be cool if someone uploaded the pie shop ending, or the weight gain scenes for the characters who get it.
>>3501
the game's more or less 2 days old, and I don't think people are willing to pirate it…yet. I'd give it a few months before you see this stuff (or Youtube the ending if all else fails)
(284.49 KB 756x768 37.jpg)
(238.80 KB 546x768 38.jpg)
>>3495
Ill leave these two here so you guys can see there's more WG than it's shown in the trailer. Most paths feature it in some form, although some don't, and it's only really central in one.
How safe is opening a second account and then paying the game with a giftcard when it comes to hiding to Steam friends about the fact that you play a furry fetish game?
I was hoping for so much more from this, to be honest. I'm glad I decided to wait and save my money.
>>3507
idk why people would be so judgemental of games? I mean, some peeps play Hunnie Pop or Sakura Clicker. However that's just me

>>3508
still is impressive for a furry indie game
>>3509 It's due to it being a furry game and the fact that transformation and weight can be seen as a fetish no matter how you slice it.
>>3510
Figures =_=
>>3511

People will still enjoy it regardless, I've been told the transformations and stuff are done in a way thats reflected seriously
As someone that's still playing through the game, I must say, the lack of an epilogue showing the fruits of our choices is quite a downer.
I'm still holding on to the belief that some endings will be further expanded upon, though, even if the odds of that happening are quite remote

Also, the "extras" tab is quite lackluster, they could have featured a section with the characters we meet and the transformations they undergo through our playthroughs as unlockables.
>>3513
from what I've seen on the steam discussion board, the devs are thinking of finding ways of fixing the paths and listening to what people want
Word from the developers is that, if they do a bit of an expansion (and they would really like to, as long as there's enough success) expanding the endings and giving them epilogues for the crew will be first order of business. This and a male Mila option, since those are the two major complaints. I don't care about the male Mila option, but I do hope we get those epilogues.
>>3515
Likewise, the male option doesn't interest me, but I do wanna know what happened to Morgana, Tam-Tam and Mila after fattening all three up, sorta. I romanced Tam-Tam and immediately romanced Morgana after, and the game just ends before I could catch a glimpse of the three settling down.
(446.59 KB 1156x776 ss (2018-03-27 at 11.04.27).jpg)
>>3516
The Food Empire ending is pretty nice for that, but I feel like the other endings need work in that regard.
>>3517
How did you unlock this one?
>>3519
You need to let morgana die, then go back in time to save her, THEN sell your soul in hell
And then at the final choice choose that you were deceived
Also make sure you romance Morgana at the end. (And break things off with Leeko after if you go for both)
>>3520
Thanks, got the ending. One of the better ones too, just wished Tam-tam didn't die.
(80.44 KB 640x363 PF reaction.jpg)
>>3522
ikr…this was my reaction to her death
>>3525
My reaction every time the guards take Tam-Tam away.

I've seen Tam-Tam's two thicc forms but has anyone seen a flat out fat form?
>>3507
Wouldn't Steam and by extension Valve know about it no matter how hard you try to hide it? I mean it would probably work if you want to hide from your friends but Valve is going to be aware of it either way.
As far as I'm aware the isn't a fat transformation for her, just the "thicc" ones >>3527
>>3529
she only has her regular, thicc, dragon thicc and TG
>>3530
Screenshots would be appreciated
>>3530
A missed opportunity, yeah, but perhaps things can change, pun unintended. There is talk of future content, after all, so maybe Tam-tam will get the full weight gain treatment, as well as some other characters.

One other thing I'd hope to see is the addition of a "choose what places to visit", like how Mass Effect does it. Visit some places in any order you wish instead of the current path choices we have.
(51.25 KB 638x586 ss (2018-03-31 at 05.10.48).jpg)
>>3528
I mean, unless someone close to you works at Valve the odds of someone you know finding out you're playing some furry fetish game, that's unlikely.

Just play on a second friendless account and no one will know.

Or be like me, play it on your main account, change your avatar to one of the characters, and write a review focusing on how much you love the WG content in it.
(41.78 KB 680x383 Good grief.jpg)
>>3533
or simply not give a crap and just play the game as it is irregardless. As I said, steam has Sakura Clicker and Hunnie Pop which are obviously fetish stuff, so why worry about this? Meh..but that's just me
Can anyone confirm what Tfs Darious and Leeko get, I would prefer to be spoiled by words then pictures, that way it would sway me better into supporting the game. I prefer more the males but i feel the game is more heavily into the girls, so any opinion from who is playing it would be great.
>>3536
From what I've seen, Leeko gets WG, TG, and Werewolf, and Darious Gets Bear and Tg/bunny. So even the male characters tend towards female content.
>>3536
for TFs for Darius, I recalled the following
Bear TF from the Cerce event
Young self from a time travel event
TG event from the lovers store event (he becomes a female bunny)

Leeko's got some interesting ones
Werewolf event from Cerce
TG from the Temple event
TG plus (Fat transgender) from Pie shop event
Fat Werewolf from the pie shop event also possible
Fat Chef pie shop event
There was a result of him being just a fat version of himself but that was cut
>>3537
>>3536
Thank you both for the quick replies. Seems its not yet for me then. If this gets some updates or another game in the future with a more balanced theme for the guys i might put my money into it.
This might sound pretty stupid, but im not as smart with computers as someone else. Can´t someone copy the folder in which the game data resides and upload it on a platform for someone to download and play the game?
>>3540
If you tried that you would get a prompt saying that you require Steam. There's .dll files located in the game directory that Steam uses to verify if you've actually purchased it or not. Not a stupid assumption, though.

What I will ask is if someone is willing to leak the artbook. I'm desperate for it.
>>3540
That's exactly how games are pirated. One would have to crack the steam.dll and some other files, though.

>>3541
Come one man, it hasn't even been a week.
>>3543
Fair enough, but I'm impatient.
>>3544
I predict that it will get pirated in 3 months or so, I am suprised that the artbook hasn't been leaked yet tough.
>>3545
Exactly. It's so easy, too. Just archive it in a .rar and then share it with zippyshare or something like that. I don't get it.
These guys spend an entire year(if not more) into this game, their Kickstarter didn't help them enough to maybe a profit and you guys want to pirate it instead of helping them so, maybe in the future, they can make another game? You guys are unbelievable
>>3547
I actually went and bought the game. It's worth the purchase, and it'll fund possible future expansions/transformations, weight gain included. Heck, the devs are also open to suggestions and ideas on the steam forums, so come on, please don't try to pirate this. Do that instead to the Triple A devs and publishers, not the little guy.
Yo dawg I herd you like pirating

So you can pirate a game about pirates
>>3544
Same, but give em' a break. They deserve it.
>>3547
>>3549
My exact thoughts.

Imma save till I have the money tbh.
>>3547
It's the internet. What did you expect ?
>>3547

The initial amount they asked for was $2000, they raised upwards of $10,000, I think they're doing pretty good all things considered so them struggling shouldn't be an issue.

If anything, they had two years to work on the gane to refine it and stuff like the endings not being the best is more gripe-worthy.
>>3552
And they spend every single buck into the game and even more, that's how much effort went into the game, it might not be perfect, I do agree that the endings are kind of lame and I wish they had even more weight gain (fat Morgana for the win!!), but that's why we have to support them, that way they can see that they already have a fan base and will likely do even better stuff
>>3552
But they had stretchgoals, it's not like the extra money didn't go into extra stuff. I put 20 hours into this, I think it's worth 15 bucks. Probably worth it if you put in 6 hours, really.
>>3555
Yeah, pretty much, though I think they should more of an effort to advertise their game.
>>3557
Drawing the intention of the masses might not be a good idea considering how eager people are to mock furries.

From what I have seen tough the game seems to be going quite well for it's size.
Steam was probably an easy choice, though maybe a questionable one, since they'll usually accept most things.

If they put the game on GoG, that'll open up the door to piracy since they're DRM-free.

>>3558 That's gonna happen sooner or later once the dust settles because right now the game is mainly big with furries. Good proof of this is that the review section of the game is mostly made up of furries, some of whom have backed the fane, though I find that to be a bit biased.
>>3558
The devs said that they're not concerned about the backlash against furries considering it'd still net them attention. Better that then being another obscure game on Steam.
>>3559
>That's gonna happen sooner or later

Unless some big time Youtube guy makes a vid about the game, I doubt it.
>>3562

Pewdiepie makes furries socially acceptable lol
>>3562
>>3563
@'ing him it right now.
>>3564
lmao good luck
>>3562
@jacksfilms come on, do your thing
>>3504
How did you get the right picture? So far i only managed to get morgana fat not someone else.
(195.57 KB 2104x1736 uLtGVo2.png)
If y'all are interested, I found a flowchart that shows the 8 pathways you can have in the game on the Steam Discussion Forums for the game.
>>3567
Got Leeko fat myself but somehow not that picture. I assume it's something to do with romancing her but if you want to get them fat, basically do what >>3520 says here but [spoilers]let Leeko get the coin in the temple instead of Tam-Tam.[/spoilers]
>>3547
1. If their main profit is money, they shouldn't have made a furry porn game hosted on Steam where everyone can see you yiffed, instead of hosting it on itch.io like a sane person. They tried this shit already with Amazon ebooks before switching to Gumroad instead.

2. If they truly didn't want the game pirated, they could've devised and coded their own DRM if they're too cheap for Denuvo.

3. Making a VN and selling it on Steam is so ubiquitous, there's even cookie-cutter engines even simpler than RenPy. If they wanted more funds, why not make a legit WG game that can rival noone's flash game? Or, better yet, disguise the weight gain as a gameplay mechanic, like an RPG where the player's body fat is their mana pool?

All in all, it went as well as expected. At least those that don't give a shit about being furry paid for it and are giving good reviews.
>>3575
My hope is that their next game will not be tied to Steam, because honestly it feel that they toned down alot of the fetish stuff to not distrub the masses.
>>3576
they did pretty well, and I'm suspecting the storytelling was on the story and less on the fetish
>>3577

It wouldn't be nearly as interesting without the fetish stuff, because then it would just be your typical adventure game with furries.
>>3577
Judging off the Let's plays on YouTube I'm more inclined to side with >>3578 .

But yeah, if it wasn't for Steam the fetish stuff would be turned up to 11. If you read some of the stories they made you can see what could have been.
>>3541
>What I will ask is if someone is willing to leak the artbook. I'm desperate for it.

Same, if someone could do it, that'd be great.
(686.46 KB 548x774 index.png)
Some of the cut stuff makes it pretty clear they wanted even more WG in it.
I dont know if this has anything to do with the game itself, but since i downloaded it several of my games keep crashing (League of Legends, Gwent, Hearts of Iron 4, Civ 6). So my question is has this to do with the Pirates Fate or is this purely coincidental?
>>3582
ngl that's really hot
>>3583
Considering half of those games aren't even on Steam, I'm gonna say that's likely purely coincidental.
>>3586
Yeah i know it now i figured it out how they worked was a problem with graphic card
(2.32 MB 1461x931 big bad leeko.png)
(2.62 MB 1459x935 leeko chef.png)
(2.45 MB 1461x933 leeko werewolf.png)
This is some of the stuff for Leeko which is a bit of a letdown.
Soo…
Torrent link…
>>3589

There isn't going to be one until they release it on a non-Steam platform. At least I don't think there is going to be one anytime soon due to Steams DRM.
So there are rumors that the developer is deleting negative reviews and that they're using puppet accounts to give the game good reviews.
>>3588

At least Leeko's TF's are a bit differen't. Both of of Tam Tam's TF's (not including the gender switch) basically look the same bodywise. She really didn't get enough love in this game…
>>3592

I hoped he would've gotten bigger, but since this a "mainstream" VN I expected too much.
>>3591
What proof do you have of this?
>>3594

One review pointed it out, but it's also been pointed out that people are making alt accounts to play the game. There also seems to be some in the discussion board too.
>>3595

All one review pointed out is that several forum threads that were trolling got moderated. That's not deleting reviews.

> but it's also been pointed out that people are making alt accounts to play the game.

Yeah, because they're uncomfortable having a fetish game on their main account.

What are you getting at here?
>>3595
>that people are making alt accounts to play the game

you're wondering why people are making secondary accounts to play a furry fetish game?
>>3588
Do you have the rest to share?
mega link works to me
>>3597

Not really wondering, was too fast on the draw, after posting I looked at it more and it wasn't really the case.

>>3596

Not getting at anything, it seems to be an isolated case, sorry for jumping the gun.
>>3600
Is the artbook available yet? That or those who've been sharing pics from it can share the whole thing.
The ones I shared personally I got from a friend, maybe if we're lucky someone will upload the book.
>>3600
doesn't work for me, I get an application load error
>>3605
Same here application error.
Here's a question, do you guys play with the voices on or off? Me personally, I never can stand hearing the audio for these types of things. It's just too awkward to me, and all I can imagine during it is some voice actress sitting in a booth, being told to act as if becoming fat turns them on. Just too cringy for me to enjoy it.
>>3608
Oh, definitely off. While I like the game, the voice acting is just garbage.
Posting the artbook right here. Get it while it's hot:

https://we.tl/1nmsoqi61f
>>3609
Why did they even bother with it?

It's a waste of time and ressources
>>3611

fuck if I know lol
>>3609
>>3611
>>3608
Well they probably wanted and what were you expecting from Indies? Mass Effect level of voice acting?
>>3613
No, but I did expect consistent voice acting. Partial just feels inconsistent and awkward.
It seems going through the art book that the game was going to be more fetish heavy, but decided to dial it back for Steam. That and from the earlier post showing the pathes, some characters are hardly in it.
>>3616
more than just that, it was due to some things not fitting well (Eg Pragmatic Mila shared the same path as Empathetic Mila so they scrapped her) they also had plans for others (eg, larger morgana and Goat Leeko) as well as scrapped romances (such as Idol Tam-Tam/Absolutionist Mila).
>>3617

They should've honestly have taken more time to flesh out the story and what they wanted to do, cause some of the things in the art book look interesting enough.
>>3617
I really hope that isn't the reason when instead of steam they could have just used itch and had more fetish stuff in it.
meant for>>3616
>>3621
https://steamspy.com/app/553480

Am i reading this graph wrong or did about 700 users refund their game right before the sale stopped?
Dropping in to mention that you can pirate the game now. For those of us of no particular integrity, or just those that don't care to broadcast a furry fetish game to all their steam friends
>>3600
Am I retarded? Can anyone else get this working?
>>3626
The only 'pirated' version I found was the igg-games link above, and that doesn't work. Seems like the uploader uploaded a broken game.

Is that what you're talking about?
For those who might be interested, apparently there'll be patches later on adding new paths, transformations and endings.
>>3630
I'm guessing when they say that, they mean "Still waiting for somebody else to do all the work".

wtf is wrong with me

Thanks! Great stuff!
>>3665

With all the spoilers here, the leak of the artbook, and the map of the routes, nothing really wrong with you lol
>>3666
No problem. Enjoy it!

Got the prequel comic if anyone cares for it
>>3672
Thanks, do you also have the artbook?
>>3673
The artbook's already been posted up at >>3610
torrent when???
>>3655
So nothing too extreme? That's a shame
>>3676
They gotta keep it PG-13
Honestly they should've just gone full-fetish instead of this half-baked version where it's still too fetishy for casual players.
I'm getting salty AF seeing all this cut Idol Tam-Tam content in the art book…
>>3686

Having her die in two paths of the story was a little overkill…
I was going to buy this game but after seeing the amount of fetish content side lined in the artbook and routes looking short i changed my mine. I may buy if they add more but it really looks like this game being put on steam was a mistake
>>3688

I'm inclined to agree with you, there were some genuinely good concepts from the art book like the Lazerby character. It almost feels like the fetish stuff should've either gone all-in or none at all and let something like the lure of cursed treasure be the selling point.
That's the problem with anytime someone makes this kind of mistake. You mix serious storytelling with fetish content, or vice versa. Either do one or the other, because trying to have it all just detracts from both aspects.
>>3688

The saddest part is they probably wanted it on steam with the hope of a larger audience, but by the time it actually GOT on steam it's database is one of the biggest and most bloated cesspools of horrible games available. Getting your game on steam used to mean something. but that was before Greenlight and Direct…
(126.36 KB 1143x1194 Pirates Fate.jpg)
alright, so I've thought it over for a while and decided that while I was being salty, I was not being harsh so much as I was being really vague

let's try again

The Pirate’s Fate: a game that expects more of you than it itself is willing to give.

I first realized I didn’t like this game when two of the crew members that I had been expected to bond with died, seemingly for no plot reason. Near the start of the game, the plot branches into three sections. One where the captain dies, one where the first mate dies, and one where nobody dies (except you, but you get revived because coins?). If you end up following the path where the captain dies, the first mate is forced to assume the captain’s duties, and given her bloodthirsty past, she understandably does her best, but struggles. A lot of this plot path involves your character reassuring her that she’s doing well, and trying to work to prop up your new captain as best you can. It doesn’t matter though, because she dies.

Around halfway through the game, your crew is taken prisoner and scheduled to hang. Your captain attempts to reverse this, by using the coins to ‘transform’ herself into the younger sister of the Queen. As a result, her entire past is rewritten. She was never the first mate, never the captain, never close to your character, or anything like that at all. The character you knew, for all intents and purposes, is dead.

But that’s okay, because immediately before that, you’re given the chance to bond with another character who underwent an hourglass ‘transformation’, you’re given the opportunity to talk them through the changes that they underwent, and reassure them that although they’re bigger on the outside, they’re the same on the inside. The character undergoes a modicum of personal growth, and then immediately afterwards is hung, without anything you can do about it.

This was what I experienced in my first playthrough.

I went back to see what decisions I could undo to prevent two of my crewmates essentially dying without any real plot reason, and discovered that the only way I could undo this, was to use the coins to bring the dead captain back to life, inadvertently killing the current captain who up until now I had been assuring that she was doing her best and trying to prop up.

To describe the game as tone-deaf would be an understatement.

The problem, as I see it, with The Pirate’s Fate is that it tried to put too many transformations into a visual novel style game. In my playthrough, for half the game Rourkie is established as the primary villain, doggedly hunting your crew down. Halfway through the game however, (after your crew is downsized via hanging) Rourkie ends up being hung, and the primary villain hence vanquished behind the scenes, with no connection to your character or their struggles. The game expects you to bond with your crew, and become invested with their struggles, but toys with them so regularly, with little if any intervention from yourself that it becomes hard to bond with, or indeed simply empathise with anyone.

In another playthrough (the one where nobody dies at the start), you take a chef on board, which one of your crew members becomes infatuated with. Before the midway point of the game, the chef and that crew member are killed by a stray cannonball from Rourkie’s ship, and that’s the end of that. Characters are introduced and taken away faster than could be reasonably expected in any kind of visual novel game, but The Pirate’s Fate doesn’t stand up as a Fetish-Only game simply because it expects you pay attention to its plot which is poorly written at its best, and completely contrived the rest of the time.

Without spoiling, every ending achieved so far (and I’ve gotten about 7 or so) has culminated in your character collecting all the coins and then doing something that’s either out of character for them, dumb, or both. One of the endings is, and I kid you not, “Erasing the ability to lie from existence”. Each ending is a single screen with a small paragraph of text that tells you about your character’s ill-informed desires, coupled with a snide remark about how it was stupid of them to do that.

If you want to look at characters undergoing transformations, consider looking at Volkenfox’s furaffinity page. The Pirate’s Fate is neither a game, nor fetish material, somehow riding the line between and failing miserably.

Final note: Rourkie’s music is absolutely brilliant and the melodies presented within have since stuck with me. The only thing I could recommend purchasing regarding this project is the OST, which would go well with any pirate themed tabletop adventure.

tl;dr putting this on steam was a bad idea, they should have gone all or nothing with the fetish material, instead of half assing it and stringing it together with a plot that sweeps most of your decisions aside in what is supposed to be a visual novel style narrative

loss of agency may work well as a fetish but it's not a very good gameplay mechanic
With the way I see the game going, since the choices you're given don't really mean much in the long run it seems, give it a few months after the dust has settled people will move on.
>>3695
Good thing i was only here for the art book and fetish stuff
>>3696

Honestly you and me both, the art book leaked was more enjoyable than the actual game itself.
>>3694
you have to remember this is Volken and T.F.'s first foray into making a gaming visual novel. Have you tried finding other paths as well?
>>3692
TPF was a greenlight game
>>3698

I kinda hope its their last, at least for a long while, it shows that they've never made a gane before. Maybe they should play to their strengths next time they try.
>>3692
greenlight was a bit more strict like 4 or 5 years ago, but now yes they basically accept everything and if you aren't a AAA or highly marketed then you're gonna get drowned out by all the shit
>>3701
they were greenlit before the whole asset flip garbage began. Not only that but they're actually listening to people on how to improve the game (hence why they're brainstorming epilogues for some of the paths)

>>3700
why would you want them to stop for? Broadening their horizons is something good for both of them
>>3703

It's not that I want them to stop, it's more that they should wait to make another VN/game, or at least use it as a learning experience.
>>3704
hence why they're actually listening to feedback, as I mentioned. They're in no rush to make a new one but are willing to make fixes to their first one
>>3694
Pretty much agree with you completely. It strikes me totally as a game caught in two halves; trying to be a legit story that just happens to have transformations in it, and a full on fetish VN. Because of this split transformation fans probably will find it too bland (and pretty cliche in a lot of places as well, all the interesting and more unique transformations normally result in immediate game overs), while VN fans would find it too weird and the plot not unique enough. Personally I think they should've either just really marginalized the transformation stuff and focused on writing a more unique story, or they should've simplified the story further, upped the number of transformations, and even considered making more unique transformations that actually continued on through the plot (and have an effect on it).

I hate to say it too, but this might have just been too much work for one artist and one writer to conceivably complete in the time they gave themselves. I think they should be applauded that they managed to give us the final product they did when you consider all the limitations they were under, but unfortunately it doesn't change the fact that the end product is sort of lacking. The endings are one of the worst parts honestly, it feels like they were trying to be clever with them, but in reality by trying to be more dour and realistic with all of them, it makes them way less satisfying as endings. I think having world changing endings too is sort of a poor choice for this sort of story, they should've been more personal to the characters (i.e. a happy life, become more attractive, whatever)

I like these two as creative types, they put way more thought and effort into things than the usual shitty fetish story writer (that much is obvious from the art book, I definitely respect them more after reading that), but I think in the future they'd be better off sticking to their stories. Or, if they wanted to continue with their VN stuff, they should consider not publishing on Steam, and instead make the game available as early as possible, and over time add more and more paths onto it (which the community can then vote/invest on to get the path they want, and/or include their OC or whatever). Something like one of those choose your own adventure things that you find around the internet in terms of update style, but with a guaranteed quality because the same author and artist work on it.
another update, TF has released another epilogue for the game
>>3707
Any word on what it involves?
>>3708
It's an epilogue after you've selected the "Destroy the Coins" ending. Compared to the Princess Morgana ending, it's a bit more themed around Mila and gives a bit more closure for the surviving members of the crew

I feel you.

The thing is that I partially disagree with you. Game is still inspirational piece of work that has more potential than normal visual novel what you have on Steam.

I would say that those anime VN games usually lack character and does not even have multiple choices. Or if they do, they are usually pretty dumb. I agree on the fact that this game was too large of an project what it wants to be. I think to me the biggest problem with this game is the replay value. After you have played your first playthrough you start to see how narrow the story.

The whole game is structured around 3 different starting points which leads to different types of "choises". The whole narrative does not change and keeps the overall struture the same. There is no clear "bad guy" ending in the game where you could just go solo and rule the world as real devil or such. All of these narratives follow same locations in same order. Only difference being who do you see front of you.

This could have been fixed easily by just making some absolutely different routes that would end up in various places rather than just everything ending in the same type location.

Game has good things in it, like the message is clear and shows in the gameplay, the whole theme works together nicely and the characters aren't as cardboard as they could be for typical VN -game.

The ammount of work they did together was for nothing. It was fun to play 3 - 5 times before I started to understand how painful it was to get "different" romances and endings. Mainly I just pressed "skip, skip, skip" until I got into the situation that made an actual difference. Gender swapping does nothing to the narrative. Only larger tranformations, but usually they don't make the character more different in any way.

Also I hated it that Mila just acted the same even he made clear choises. As a Devil Mila and Titan Mila you had options that made no sense. Chubby Mila and Danger Mila path were good ones, but if you needed to transform after that, it didn't make any sense.

I would have wanted to play a path were Mila would from begining befriend that Rabbit and change much more evil and sinister as she was on her ship. I just feel like that a good option was scrapped because of deadline possibly? Why else you get to say NO to Dread Pirates at the end? Just to get a one forced ending what you didn't choose? There is also the path where you can refuse to them and just jump off, but with that you get two endings with "special ending". I feel that there was potential in this type of approach aswell, but why did it take control from you when you wanted to become evil?

Also why only angel form? Why not get a ending where you could sacriface your own existence to save your crew. Make it so that you just become a temporal time wizard with the coin and "puff" revive either Morgana or Darius. Make them think that Tem-Tem was the one they saved from the spice merchants.

But I think that these were types of things they pondered, but didn't want to just look like that they took money and left. So I guess they could add these types of endings in post-pone or as a DLC, but I don't know…
>>3759

That's a real possibility, they say they'll support the game, but for how long? Once a few months pass by will there still be interest in the game to still make stuff for it?

There is that tier on the Kickstarter where the people who gave money to get that tier can give the game more scenarios, so maybe there is hope for that, assuming that Volken and T.F. actually follow through with it.
Any chance for a reup of the art book?
Seconding a re-up for the art book, previous link doesn't work; files taken down
Torrent never, I guess? I know people here are claiming the endings are underwhelming but I still want to play it without putting in $20
>>3807

Until they release it on a non-DRM platform that is, which could be a possibility.
>>3807
well they just released the newest epilogue today
re-up on artbook please?

Someone posted a download link over on 4Chan:

>>3818
Unfortunately it's not in a format that's usable/saveable, least for me. Comes up as a .7z
>>3823
You can open it using 7zip, which is free
Has there been much fat fanart (or official aside from whats in the game and the artbook) of the really big Morgana? Or other characters?
>>3837
dunno
anybody got a reup on the artbook link
>>3837
This is the closest to what you want that I could find so far.
just a side note: devs deleted a long post from their steam discussion. I only saved the beginning part of that conversation to my computer.

Also, the artbook is NOT worth of the 10 dollars what they ask.

If you're the kind too ashamed to have this game on your steam page or not fond of Steam's DRM, now you can buy it DRM Free
>>3852

It shows a Steam icon, doesn't that mean you still activate it via Steam?

Most Humble Store games have Steam as an option IF you want it, but this also has the DRM Free icon.
>>3850
And how do you get it working exactly?
>>3857
Thanks!

You know it's one thing to hate a game. It's another to fucking say they should never make a game ever again. I mean at least this game wasn't a carbon copy like most AAA games. They should learn from their mistakes if they make another.
This as a guy who intends to make games one day

Can someone post the female TFs in this new Dlc, please? Put 'em in spoilers if you have to.
>>4637
Yeah the game didnt need a PAID expansion that was just one route when the base game was extremely lack luster and needed updates even something as simple as just increasing the game length would improve it greatly. or the simplest solution of just making it a fetish game instead of this mess
(246.83 KB 415x495 smug banny.png)
>>4640

I think you misunderstood the whole idea of this game. I agree that there should have been most risky scenes and more suggestive tone in the writing, but I think that this is a decent game for those people who want to start with clean waters.

Furry aestethic can be a huge turn-off for some normies. I think pirate's fate as a game is not the greatest game what you can have. For what it is, it is a decent game to begin with. The story is okay lenght for the first timer and drawings can keep you invested in the plot (because if you look at Anime + VN games, you don't remember half of the cast in those).

Ofcourse when time goes on there are many more games that can outrank Pirate's Fate with light swing and I think that if someone takes more aggressive approach with fetish / sexual themes that game would come top with those who appreciate the fetish.
Sadly. The current game is a little bit boring and predictable. Volken's artistic style is great for this type of game, but still, I really think Volken's style is not fap worthy. It would be same if I masturbated to disney afternoon cartoons. I have also seen +18 works by him, but they are also, meh...

Imagine if someone much more popular had done the art, oh boy, then we would be talking.
I heard recently that they added some things onto the dlc since it was so disappointing. Anyway, anyone got screencaps of dlc stuff? Is there any good fats?
>>4653

Well... ill say one thing about this update

Much moregana is in the new epilogue path
I want to buy the expansion, but ewwww, can't because I haven't buy the game on steam
>>4658

You can buy it DRM-free on the Humble store
...

well i'll just wait the leak
So anyone got screencaps of the new epilogue?
(1.14 MB 1050x685 rourkiemila.png)
The expansion was disappointing to say the least, it's just one additional story path full of non-choices that only affect dialogue.

What really annoyed me is how they tease the player with an "evil Mila" character model towards the end. Not the demon version - this is a Mila that's adapted to Rourkie's crew and behaves like him, demonstrated by how she wants to kill the Dread pirates on sight. The character model itself isn't anything special, but the thought of getting to play the game as a baddie is interesting, especially if it would feature more "in-character" options for choices, something that the main game was definitely lacking in. I eagerly replayed the start hoping that I could access an evil Mila path, but only found out that there's zero additional story branches.

I very much enjoyed the original game... It was flawed, sure, but visual novels focused on transformation are pretty uncharted territory, it's easy to step into pitfalls when you're pioneering. It was impressive to see a TF themed game with some actual production value, when most of the competition is just unfinished stuff made in Renpy, often featuring inconsistent writing because there's several different writers involved.

But yeah, the only good thing about this expansion is that it offers some wholesome closure to some of the characters. Excluding that, it's not actual content, just a boring story with a 6$ price tag. Not worth it unless they patch it with choices that actually branch out the story.
Sorry but can someone pass the artbook before we all get deleted?
