Board rules being broken via "subtle" e-begging. Anonymous 06/27/2019 (Thu) 21:27:30 Id:3a7001 No. 8221
Lot of people seem to think they can ignore the rules of the board for some reason, masking this with their "subtle" ways. For the sake of the board flow, the 2 big rules are
* Share, and share alike.
* Share, and request.
Meaning... share what you can,. when you can, and if you share, you may make a request too, but take note of the following.

* Re-ups - For some reason, people seem to think there is a huge different in requesting for content and asking for a re-up. Your still making a request, therefore provide content if you wish to have a re-up.
* Requesting content in a current thread - For some reason, people think the rules don't apply with requests and re-ups as long as they are in a current thread. This means you somehow can waiver the requirements because you didn't start a new thread. Or that there is already a current thread on your favourite subject or model therefore it's okay to request without providing content.

Now for a few tips... stop "bumping" threads, stop adding (delete this) to base64 codes, use a non personal account for Google Drive and Mega uploads and try to do a reverse image search on Google or TinEye before you ask "who is she?"

Many thanks!

Anon, trying to help the board flow.

No, we need to do this with every B64 code. And we need to stop helping people who don't know what B64 is. "Board Flow" is never going to improve if we keep pandering to the brainlets.
The rules only state that you have to share content when making a thread. There's no rule stating that you have to share something while requesting content in a thread that already exists, and forcing people to share when asking for reups would be really stupid.

>just magically know
yeah, digital natives are born "stupider" every day. :)
>>107229
Yeah, I'll never understand how these guys expect people to just magically figure it out. How would anyone know what to do with these random strings of letters and numbers if they've never seen them before? It's not something you can just figure out. Besides, there's not much harm in telling them since any models who frequently browse the site to take their videos down have to know what it is by now.
>>107256
The exact same way I figured it out. Not a single person told me how to use B64 at all. I was here on the very first day somebody posted something in a b64 link and he didn't say shit. Just posted the link and said what was in. So I took the string and I searched around until I figured out what it was. It's not a fucking Indiana Jones puzzle, use your brains.
>>107264
Sure you did, mate. Except I was also here when people started using base 64 and I know for a fact that people said what to do with it.

> stop adding (delete this) to base64 codes

This is the point I realized I wasn't reading a barclay sticky.

You're a fucking retard, you know that? Any additional effort imposed upon the people who report we.tl links is a positive thing. Yes, there are some content creators who will report anything within a day no matter what, but in general, the two-tier (delete this) links last FAR longer than the ones that are merely b64-encoded.
Irony overload. Calling me a dumbass, then taking time to realise that this post wasn't written by Barclay, hence his name not being in the original post, and not realising it was a sticky, everyone knows stickies are at the top of the list.

Find me proof that these links last longer when you add random letters that need deleting.

It's just a pointless additional step, additional click that we don't need. We use base64 to decode links so regular bots can't can't detect the content. That should be enough.
There is already a stick which says what Base 64 is although it took a while to get up there.
Ok, you are technically right, that is what the rules say, and it does say nothing about the re-ups, but as I said before, when you request content, you should provide content, why should it make a difference just because you have requested to reupload already mentioned content?

When you ask for a re-up, the re-up could be done by the original poster or any other random anon. It still takes the same effort to re-upload something then it does to upload non re-upped content.

Weather you upload previously uploaded content or requested content, your doing the same thing... Finding a cloud storage server, uploading it, grabbing the link and putting it into base 64, it's the same effort, so why should it be treated different?
Bro - just let the chan be a chan
>>107279
Yeah, no thanks. All this will do is lead to people endlessly reposting the same videos everyone already has. And then there's going to be times when someone doesn't have any content for the model in question, which will probably lead to them sharing content of other models instead. If I go into the Roxxie thread, it's because I want Roxxie content, not Juicy Jackie. All this is going to do is turn this into a trading site and kill the community.
You say trading site as if it's a bad thing, what else is it?
>>107307
Like it says in the rules, "Holding content for ransom defeats the purpose of imageboards." Turning this into a trading site will only lead to less content getting posted, which in turn will make the site die. This is why trading is against the rules in the first place.

Which community are you talking about?

I love how you think that you have a say in what people will do on this site. This thread did absolutely nothing but bump a dead thread out of the board. You wasted your time making this and you wasted the time of everyone who’s read this piece of shit. If you think some anon that doesn’t even know how to properly tag other users or even mask their IP is gonna tell me how to use this site, you’re horribly mistaken. Delete this, this is utterly ridiculous and pointless and it just wastes space for real threads
i'll ask for free shit as much as i want and like a good soldier, you'll upload it. capiche!

Alrighty, I'll go ahead and chip in here.
>Re-ups - For some reason, people seem to think there is a huge different in requesting for content and asking for a re-up. Your still making a request, therefore provide content if you wish to have a re-up.
This is something I would love to be a thing, but it's just not feasible. You forget that there are tons of newbs here that might have no content at all, or content which is completely irrelevant to the thread they are requesting in. Just wouldn't work. Would it be nice? Sure.
>stop "bumping" threads
hahaha. that's good.
>stop adding (delete this) to base64 codes
If they think it helps, let em. It probably doesn't, but with so many people not being able to figure it out, maybe it DOES trip up a DMCA bulldog occasionally. Either way, complaining about it is stupid.
>use a non personal account for Google Drive
Yeah you'd think this would be common sense, but it clearly isn't. Even a non-personal google drive is a terrible way to share as Google responds fast to DMCA.

Anyway I'll leave this here for another day or two and move to gen. Never really needed to be here.
