That complete and utter fuckwit known as "Bananaman"q Anonymous 08/15/2019 (Thu) 14:36:40 Id:f2b966 No. 8520
Had banned me for 3 days for my first "offence", which he labeled as "politics shitposting".

The message was far from "shitposting". Anon said he didn't want to support a said model because of her political views, another stupid Anon chipped in with their simpleton opinion of, if you hate Trump, you must love Hilary, I basically said no, that's not necessarily the case, and eventually I get a 3 day ban.

When this board has...
* Anons who bump.
* Anons who beg.
* Anons too lazy to read the thread.
* Anons who can't post in the right thread.
* Anons who ask help to ID a model who can easily be found on a Google image search.
*Anons asking for files to be uploaded on their choice of cloud server, because they are too lazy to keep a browser tab open.

Don't bother banning me for my "first" offence, even if you could call it that. The conversation wasn't in depth, it was reasonable and I wasn't even part of the 2 who started it.

LT, get rid of this fucking over zeleous twatbasket and start asking for mods who aren't banning folk in order to inflate their ego.
Perhaps you were being inflammatory and angry? With all the political division it's fairly easy to become frustrated with people who seem unwilling to use their brain or even consider you as human, and sometimes we vent angrily at what we perceive as a malicious hive mind.

But consider the importance of manners and respect. If you allow me to go full Godwin for a moment, even an outright National Socialist is able to be tolerated much longer if they maintain decorum and respect. When a rainbow-haired liberal is strawmanning you as an angry racist hillbilly ("just like I see on tv and in the news, and those would never lie to me!") try to prove them wrong by being the opposite of their expectations. Don't yell, don't swear, don't scream angrily. Explain in calm detail why you disagree with their viewpoints. Remember you're not arguing with them, you're setting an example for those watching (such as the mods).
I don't think you read anything I said properly.

I wasn't saying anything "racist" and neither was I the rainbow haired liberal. The scenario, again.

Anon 1: I don't like said model because of her views.
Anon 2: Well if you don't like Trump, you must be a Hilary supporter.
Me: So someone says they hate trump, that means they are a Hillary supporter?

All 3 of us got the ban.

Again, I don't see how worthy of a ban by making a moot point with regards to the other two people. There was no shouting, caps, yelling, fits of rage, idiocity, just a straight ban for my "offence" even if you could call it that.

This is while, you could scroll the overboard on any given moment and there is "bump" "plz new content" "who is this model? I can't be bothered to reverse image search it" "upload on Mega plz I am ungreatful and can't be bothered keeping a tab open" "anyone got set number 256? i can't be bothered scrolling in the thread to look".

No one had a problem with LT Barclay, it's this new guy who is the drizzling shits, he has a almost Jess (another old mod) vibe about it.
I agree the aggressive beggars should be temp banned too, but you're not being very convincing that your ban wasn't deserved either, I haven't seen bananaman go over the line in any way like jess did, (temp) banning all three is exactly what I'd hope for, unlike the old mods who would only ban the people they disagreed with.
Well let me try to "convince" you otherwise, (politely of course).

1. The post was barely a "political shitpost"
2. The ban was not justified compared to other incidences.
3. If this is a first warning for a barely political post, then a warning about it getting out of hand would of been best.

I don't know who the mods were before Jess, but taking your word for it, they were dicks, so suffice to say, they have all been dicks.

This.
The site has been a cesspool of off-topic and racist/political nonsense for months, and only recently has it seemed to start getting better. I haven't seen Banana do anything over the line, if anything he seems to let posters insult him to his face and not do a thing about it. I don't know if you ever go to the draw board but there is a translation thread and a guy in there called Zephyr shitposts constantly to the point where myself and many others have reported him and banana even came in said basically "I know you guys are reporting him but he isn't breaking any rules and I can't just ban people you don't like." and Zephyr threw a hissyfit and started telling him to fuck off, etc, and he wasn't banned. So I'm willing to believe that if you were banned then you probably deserved it. It's well known by now that off topic posting, especially political stuff, is against the rules here and that's probably why he didn't give out warnings. But if a little overzealous moderation is what it takes to keep the site on the upswing that it's been having then I'm all for it, shitposters should always be banned IMO.
>>8532
*he isn't technically breaking any rules
>>8531
It does sound like you should've gotten a warning instead yeah, I can't say since I don't know the actual posts you're talking about.

The way I see it though from your description though, someone started political shit where it didn't belong and they deserved a ban. If you just ban that person however, that off topic political discussion will just continue if there's many people already involved, the only way to get the thread back on track is to give everyone a timeout so actual content doesn't get drowned out by stupid infighting. Not sure if lynxchan supports it but a simple board temp ban would be most suitable, point people to /gen/ in their ban message so they can continue there.

>>8532
Yeah the dude showed amazing restraint there. It's why I find it rather hard to believe bananaman is abusing his powers. I rather would've seen zephyr get a timeout but it is what it is.
To be honest, I would have been on the same lines of you lot. I haven't seen Bananaman do anything unjust, apart from this one incident.

It's just the fact that it was the stupidest ban I've ever seen. There was no big long discussion, there was some relevance to the model thread, and I chipped in with a side comment of

"Hating Trump doesn't mean you love Hilary, I'm sure there are realistic reasons why people hate Trump"

I didn't give any sort of discussion topic, it was merely a point to stick up for the said user. I wasn't the starter, the one who carried it on, it was a side note between the two of them, if a guy doesn't want to donate to a person he feels is bad, then sure, nothing wrong with expressing that. It doesn't necessarily have to turn into political shitposting, and I wouldn't class it as that.

When does it become political shitposting? To me, when your asking for a debate or a argument, is to mention specific incidences to "reel" someone into a debate or discussion.

A warning should of been given for a first offence, again, if you would really call this a offence, strictly speaking, we could say many of the topics we discuss cross over with politics,it we break down politics as a discussion over what you think is right and wrong, then everyone's got a opinion, you could say there is politics in a model choosing to be obese, politics in were they sell their content, or whatever.

Further still, the biggest point I would add is the other rules being broken. Now if I get banned for what I agree, you could say is a debatable point, then what does that make people who bump and beg? If you class what I say is against the rules and so is bumping, then why isn't there a ban on everyone?

Selective banning, to me, is much more worse then breaking the rules. why? Because there was no damn point of the rules in the first place!
Test to see if my ban is over. Not sure why it happened in the first place (posting a gif of Destiny to a thread when it happened). No explanation given. Does this happen around here often?
>>8557
A) As far as I know, being banned only prevents you from posting on the board you got banned from. So being able to post here doesn't mean anything.
B) "I got banned for posting a gif." Doubt. You didnt just post a gif with no text and get banned. Are you that faggot who kept posting single images to spam your shitty blog? Did you post a gif but it was with an entirely off topic shitpost? Posting pictures isn't some magical protection from the rules.
C) The reason everyone knows you are lying; when you get banned the mod has a space to put the reason why they banned you. I've never been banned here but that's how it works on every chan site so I'm sure that's how it works here too. If you really got banned, you would know why.
D) And if somehow this isn't a complete lie, This site seems to have an automod function to deal with link spam so if you just posted a picture and a link it's possible you got banned automatically before an actual mod even saw your post.
7/10 bait, I responded.
>>8564
A) Good to know
B)Nope. Gif was on point.
C)Reason given: "You've all been warned"
D)Gif wasn't a link

You seem remarkably angry for some reason. Problems at home?
I got a week-long ban for actually talking about a video in the Becca thread simply because this idiot was making a sweep.
I got banned 8 months for using the word "square" in a sentence. This banana guy is out of control!
I don't understand. If he's some power hungry jackass that will just ban anybody he wants then isn't this thread a really bad idea? It seems like all of you gathering here is just giving him a list of people to ban again. I'm surprised he didn't just delete the thread in the first place.
>>8608
Because he isn't. It's just people crying that we finally have a mod that does his job. It seems like if you aren't a regular shitposter then you don't have anything to worry about. The guy even posts content, which is more than I can say for the other mods aside from Barclay. Banana doesn't seem like a bad guy. I don't know anything about the Destiny thread, I don't like her, but the Becca thread was constant "sjw" shitposting and I saw him give multiple warnings but you guys never stopped, I'm not surprised he banned people.
